Aluminum bars in the Bauerfeind ManuLoc Rhizo Wrist / Thumb Support ensure stabilization of the wrist and thumb. These bars are anatomically shaped, but can be adjusted by an orthopedic instrument maker if required, ensuring optimum support. Although immobilisation of the joint is paramount at the start of the treatment, it is important to train the muscles in the course of treatment to ensure that they fully recover.

The freedom of movement of the thumb can be adjusted in a controlled manner with the help of a Velcro closure. When the thumb is recovered, the thumb brace can be removed completely. This ensures that all fingers can be used again for picking up objects, but at the same time the wrist remains stabilized and the risk of injury is minimized.
