The McDavid 421 Knee Support has been specially designed by orthopedists to support your kneecap while doing exercises or while working and for joint disorders, capsular ligament problems, cartilage problems and for fairly serious other disorders and complaints to your knee ligaments like, Tendinitis, Runner's Knee and Jumpers Knee. The McDavid 421 Knee Support consists out of two medial and two lateral busks with an adjustable closure and a horseshoe shaped cushion to optimally stabilize the kneecap. All these unique features ensure that the knee will receive the needed support, stability and protection when you're working out or competing.
The McDavid 421 Knee Support is also equipped with a 5 mm thick Neoprene strap with a nylon cover on both sides, that ensures an exceptionally high wearing comfort, while maintaining its shape.
In addition, Neoprene gives therapeutic warmth to the injury, which expedites recovery and, if necessary, reduces pain complaints. Fitting
The McDavid 421 Knee Support is universal, so no side has to be selected. The correct size is determined as follows:
- Measure the circumference of the knee fully stretched when standing, around the centre of the kneecap (see image)
- Then read off the correct size from the table
Please note! For the best results, it is important to measure properly. If you have a substantial thigh or calf, we recommend one size up from the indicated size.

While the McDavid 421 Knee Support offers decent support for knee issues, I found the comfort level to be average. The Neoprene strap is a nice touch, but I wish it provided a bit more cushioning. Overall, it gets the job done, but there's room for improvement in terms of comfort.
